Abbie is off for fall break this week. I tried to get her out on the water at lunch, but she thought it would be too cold for the boat. Eventually talked her into an early evening fish at a small private pond. Her idea for the pond as we usually always do well there and the owner wants you to keep all you catch. She caught a decent bluegill on the first cast and then it was like we were fishing for musky (the fish of a 1000 casts). We tried bottom, 3'- 5' under bobbers, ... only thing that was consistent was little bitty ones in about 3' of water with the bobbers set at 1 1/2' - 2' deep. She always seems to scrape up a nice redear wherever we've fished this year. This one was 10" on the dot. I caught a few bluegills; 2 of the bluegills and the 15 1/2" bass on a Bitsy Pond Minnow. We ended up with 4 keepers each. Most importantly, we had fun and have enough for supper tomorrow night.

Nice fish fellas Fishing here in Tennessee hasn’t been great. Finally got some night crawlers to use for this evening and my daughter caught 4 bluegill and I caught one. I used two of them for bait and am leaving them out overnight to see what happens. I know there’s carp out there and am guessing there’s some decent catfish as well. Nice view on the bank:

This is a cove off the Cumberland river. I went and checked my poles I left out and one was saved by the log I purposely set it on from going in the water. Unfortunately, whatever had the bluegill wasn’t still on there, but it does have a chunk out of its back. I just threw it back out and we will see what happens.

There should be about everything in there in terms of catfish.

I just went and checked my poles again and I did catch a small gar. Spending the day in Nashville today, so no fishing until this evening.

Did halfway decent at Glendale this afternoon. A few were hooked deep and bleeding, so I kept them (including the perch). Threw back some smaller ones and then thought, what the heck I'm already going to be cleaning fish! Biggest redear is 10" and most bluegills are 8 to 9". Bobber set 8' deep using redworms. Had a few squirrels along the bank that were taunting me, too! Got a pic of a fox squirrel up beyond my bobber. Bobber is hard for me to see in the reflection, but is low left and squirrel is top right.

Nice 'gills! I'm spoiled by managed private ponds where the 'gills are a LOT taller.

Did halfway decent at Glendale this afternoon. A buddy of mine has been beating up the big redear on Glendale recently. Had 3 older guys fishing close to me that only caught about 8 between them. Saw a guy last weekend at the cleaning station that had some big redears and some really nice crappie. He was slow trolling jigs.

Dirty SOB boss made me work today so no hunting or fishing. Jerks, maybe I will strike!

I see guys with coolers loaded with gills at the cleaning station. Love eating panfish! Even better than deer. Had enough from the last two trips for a family fry tonight. Mom, Dad, an uncle, Abbie and me. Was honestly planning to fish again tomorrow, but 10-15 mph winds all day don't sound that much fun. Not likely to ride a tree in that either.

Not likely to ride a tree in that either. They are saying 40-50mph gales on Lake Mich Saturday with 10ft waves. We are running over to Cabelas and Bass Pro, which is right off the lake. We'll take a ride over and check out the waves and take a few pics if worthy.

Well, I went despite the wind and just sat in westside coves. Had a hard time finding keepers this afternoon. Did get sprinkled on a couple times.

Hit the river briefly. 1 drum, 1 spotted bass, 1 crappie and 3 snagged again carp. Had a small gar long enough to see it.
Thought for sure the drum was a good eye...it hit hard and fought good. No complaints

River produced 1 crappie and 1 big fish lost. If it was a walleye it was a dandy. Saw it surface and my braid above my leader broke. It looked like an eye but not willing to bet anything. Snagged a carp too. Good fresh air.

Past 2 days have been perfect. Unfortunately, I was too busy with a bunch of other stuff that I had put off doing.

Made it out for a few hours this evening. Bite got better the later it got. Most everything was 4-5" long, but was able to land 6 to fillet. Lost one keeper right on top of the water. Biggest redear is a hair over 9 1/2". Water temp was 56°. Everything caught on bottom from 3' to 12' on red worms. Bigger redear was in 9' and the other one just a bit shorter was in 3'. Bluegills were all in 12' of water. As I was leaving, fish started hitting something on top of the water all over the place! Some kind of bug with feathery antennae were all over my outboard.
