Be careful out there in this wind this afternoon, I just had a pretty good size limb from a big dead dry tree come crashing down not far from me.

Activity will probably pick up this afternoon before rain begins tonight. I will be clearing the gutters of the widow across the street and getting my trailer back into shape this afternoon. I am off Friday, but it is now calling for 90% chance of rain. Don't think I'll hunt. Blood is hard enough to find being colorblind. Would be impossible for me to find it with everything wet and washing it away, too. Maybe I'll go fishing if it isn't a very hard rain. Fishing in November....some of best fishing I've ever done.

Lone 4 point early and that's it. Have a couple of blinds to put some orange on and lunch and I'll be back at for this afternoon and evening hunt, hopefully it'll be better than this morning.

Back at it this afternoon, had to cut this mornings hunt short to get new tires and a oil change and service on the wife's car but I did see deer this morning. So on my way across the field to my stand I stopped at the base of a high line tower to eat my gas station lunch and a little fork horn come trotting by about 20 yds stops and looks at me, I say hi young man and he trotts away. It is 1:30 in the afternoon and a little warm but it's the rut and anything can happen.

13 total deer this morning, 8 different bucks and last deer seen around 9:30 or so. Different woods this evening 1st time in this stand this season and it's thicker than Grandma's Gravey and full of scrapes and rubs. Hoping to maybe see the kind of action I seen this morning or harvest a mature buck.

Its a beautiful afternoon in north eastern Knox county and back in a different stand this evening, cut corn on one side of the tree line and cut beans with wheat sprouts on the other. Wind in my face and now I wait.

Well things came together this AM. Was watching 2 does feed in the persimmons when a forkhorn came by chasing another doe. While watching those deer I heard another walking, turned to me left and this guy came walking in. Figured he would continue his path for a broadside shot but nope, he turned and walked right at me. Adrenaline then kicked in as this was the one I had on camera a few times. I drew as he walked through a few saplings and when he stepped into the clearing....he stopped and looked straight up at me. I'm no William Tell but did feel confident with a 15 yard, quartering to me shot. Pass through shot and he went about 100 yards. Not text book but I'd just as soon be lucky as good. Feel awfully blessed. Thank the good Lord too for my Belgian horse son (6'6 260) for helping me get him out and loaded. Beautiful Deer, Congratulations

Off work at 7 drove 15 miles home changed clothes and made it to the stand by 7:40 which might be a new record for me. I knew I was going to be walking in at sunrise but I wasn't going to miss a few hours in the stand this morning.
