Back local this evening, went to big oaks this past weekend for the first time and even though I didn't shoot a deer I had a good time with my friend. I was just amazed at how big the place and all the sections are, and not being a big woods hunter I think I could really get into it if I had bigger woods to hunt closer to home.

Only thing moving in Knox County is the trees, this wind sure has picked up in the last hour or so.

Hundreds and Hundreds acres of standing corn at all 3 properties I hunt. And they have been dead just as much as the cameras are also as of late. And I don't hunt big woods just tree lines, fence rows and wooded ditch lines all very small, easier to get permission but land owner thinks I'm crazy to want to hunt them but it pays off yearly. So hopefully in the very near future they get started on picking this corn.

Remember to put your cell phone on silent! And always make sure someone knows where you are hunting especially if you are hunting by yourself.

I hear wire-haired dachshunds are amazing trackers. This app seems really nice. Both of these statements are true. One wire-haired dachshund hated water, but if it was on a track it would swim like a champ to stay on trail. Theres a tracker in Ohio that has a dachshund thats a tracking dog named Emmy and he has a facebook page with some pretty good videos named Emmy Tracks and its pretty interesting.

Took a drive up to Sullivan County by Merom power plant and it looks like they are grouping up. We lost count on how many deer we seen, we're guessing close to or just over 200 which isn't uncommon for us to see that many.

The last sit for the season, I won't be bummed out if I don't fill my last tag of the bundle. For me it's been a good season since I filled my buck tag and a doe tag during early archery and was fortunate enough to see some friends and family fill a few of their tags as well. If a doe presents me with a shot this evening I may or may not take the shot since I also enjoy watching them as much as hunting them. Good Luck to everyone still trying to seal the deal and stay warm this coming week.

It's a damp, quiet and foggy morning in Knox County and probably about everywhere else also. Good luck to everyone still trying to fill them tags.

Hmmm, these weren't here the last time I was at this stand. Maybe I'll get to lay eyes on next year's target or at least see what kind of potential he has.

Im in only if the weather is halfway decent, I love being in the woods but I don't like it when it's nasty and freezing cold. I guess you could call me a fair weather hunter.

Don't really care if I shoot anything tonight or not. I'm just cheesing tonight, my niece and nephew who I hunt with on occasion was nice enough to let me take my 13 year old great nephew who also hunts with me tonight and what a great feeling it is to take a youngster. My kids don't hunt and I was blessed with 3 granddaughters and I have 1 4 year old who's absolutely obsessed with deer, meat, mounts, pictures. Hopefully in the next several years I'll be able to take this young lady on her 1st deer hunt.

Drove around last night before dark and seen several groups of does feeding but never seen the 1st buck. Drove around this morning and they were in the road, along the road and crossing the road and blocking the road about everywhere I drove.

They were on fire today in Knox County. Seen 13 total tonight a couple different bucks, probably the biggest body buck I've ever seen. Had the big body buck tending a doe and bedded down 15 yds away for over 2 hours this afternoon. Ended up taking a doe about 4:45 pm when it seemed like a whole herd of them came by (only 5).
