I don't know what happened but I just missed a nice one. No more than 35 yards. This scope has to be off. My grandson has been using it. My grandson missed one two years ago but it was 50 yards and it was Grandson. My fault for not taking it to the range this year. Things got in the way, but that is no excuse This bird had a nice bushy beard and a lot of red and some blond looking coloring on him. A beautiful bird. This is the first bird I've missed ...ever. That hurts. Don't worry WOODY you will get over it in about 8-10 years.

One thing they taught us in firearms training is to never RIDE THE SLIDE shut always let it slam shut.

I set up on the downwind side of a huge open field with the wind roaring right in my face. Rain on and off with nothing but ducks geese and sandhill cranes and deer. I gave it up after 2 1/2 hours of punishment.
Only thing I am grateful for is we're not out on the BIG LAKES fishing.

Got a friend who swears by Froglube. May I suggest a Benelli Sbe3? They are the bomb. I second this.

For those of you who have ROKU television you can subscribe to MOTV it has all of the seasons of Michael Waddell's CAN'T STOP THE FLOP turkey hunting shows.
The first 2 shows of season 1 are just OK but the rest of the 6-7 years worth are educational.
Waddell is a turkey hunting machine, he does things I would never dream of doing.

We pulled the plug. Drove around the neighborhood where we always see birds. A big fat zero. Back out to different spot tonight, as long as the weather cooperates. If not, gonna try to roost one for Luke's draw hunt tomorrow. I would be going to KINGSBURY and putting a plan together for tomorrow.

Tony's place in Valparaiso was the best unfortunately last year they closed their doors after 68 years of doing business. Now the best pizzas I know of are made by my wife.

Not real excited about our temps. Showing Sat high 46, overnight low 34, Sun 55. I swapped out clothes for warmer duds so we can hang in there a little more comfortably, hopefully. Will be fine as long as no wind. Bundle up guys... you can take it off if you wore it BUT you can't put it on if you didn't bring it. GOOD LUCK LUKE!
