Met - depending on what is enough there may not be any Christians.
I am not well versed in religion ... at all. Dont take my questions as being trivial ... I am really curious about some if this stuff.

From the book of Matthew…
13“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
AND….
21“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

Christians don't determine what's in someone's heart.
Sin is sin and repentance is repentance. Only God knows who's names are in the Book.

Laymens terms .... saying they hate someone is enough ... but then you say only God knows whos names are in the book.
So hate isnt necessarily enough because only God knows.

Only God knows ... would be my guess. Anyone who says differently is wrong.
And ... many folks who think they are getting in are going to be sorely disappointed on judgement day.

Again...look at the two greatest commandments. Do you think God would excuse someone who breaks either commandment?

If someone hates someone, they are not being Christians. That doesn't mean they won't repent...forgiveness is for anyone.

We went through this forgiveness thing before as well .... some folks tried to put rules on that too.
Met - what are your personal thoughts on all the folks, many of them Christian, who repeatedly call Obama a Muslim. That does not seem very Christian to me ... calling a fellow Christian a Muslim.

Seems to me as long as the whole "forgiven" thing works out a person can do as many un-Christian things as they want over the course of their lives.
Unless of course the whole forgiveness thing was just mans way of attempting to circumvent Gods system and God will still be there to judge them in the end. In which case we get back to the whole "not everyone who thinks they are getting in is really getting in" thing.

It makes me cringe. Calling out the POTUS on an action by action basis is fair game. Calling him out for religious beliefs is off limits. What gets me is this... If Obama WAS a Muslim, he'd be immediately labeled an infidel for claiming to be a Christian. Not very Muslim of him, ?

Trying to play the game to which you refer, Swilk, is sadly, a common practice. However, it does not reflect a changed heart and it's a dangerous game to play. You are correct though, many do play it.

Woody - the Catholic question? Not being a Catholic I can not really comment other than saying the ONLY path to Heaven is through Jesus Christ as my Savior. I do not recall Jesus ever saying anything about birth control.

Met - I have drawn a circle here and I have always known where the circle was going to begin and where it was going to end. Sadly, many wont see it.

You are trying pretty hard to apply logic to this. That's hard to do when you are debating faith and what is in people's hearts and minds at any given part of their walk through life...
