One more day of muzzleloader season and then 14 days of statewide archery season. Then finish it off with deer reduction zones.
Will we make 120,000?

Text for the Day -- Luke 2:1-7 ---------- In those days a decree went out from Emperor Augustus that all the world should be registered. This was the first registration and was taken while Quirinius was governor of Syria. All went to their own towns to be registered. Joseph also went from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to the city of David called Bethlehem, because he was descended from the house and family of David. He went to be registered with Mary, to whom he was engaged and who was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for her to deliver her child. And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in bands of cloth, and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.
Devotional ---------- The simple story of Jesus' birth in these verses doesn't reveal the full import of what was happening. So much of God's activity is like that. In the ordinary events of the world - taxation, travel to a home town, a birth of a child - God is at work creating a profound, life and world changing event. God was delivering his Son to the world. Keep your eyes open in the ordinary events of your life and see what marvelous things God is doing for you.
Prayer ------- Help me stay focused on what you are up to in my life, Lord. Amen

Text for the Day ---------- In those days Mary set out and went with haste to a Judean town in the hill country, where she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth. When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the child leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit and exclaimed with a loud cry, "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. And why has this happened to me, that the mother of my Lord comes to me? For as soon as I heard the sound of your greeting, the child in my womb leaped for joy. And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her by the Lord."
Devotional ---------- There are many special births recorded in the Bible. Elizabeth, a relative of Mary, has conceived in her old age. John the Baptist lies in her womb. Mary, her womb filling with the baby Jesus, visits her Elizabeth. Two cousins, John and Jesus, share a remarkable conception for a special, divine purpose. No wonder John leapt in the womb when Jesus visits with Mary.
Prayer ---------- I marvel at your wonderful ways, O God. Amen

Carfax is $45..
Carfax said 48 entries so that has to be a lot of oil changes.
I’ll see what Welder says first.

I could help but it wouldn't be until the 6th maybe the guy can cool his heels idk that might go pretty quick maybe get something down on it? Welder says he was going to make a run by the lot and check it for me. Main thing I want to know is - any accidents and maintenance record. Well maintained 4Runners last forever.

Text for the Day -- Luke 1:26-35, 38 ---------- In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a town in Galilee called Nazareth, to a virgin engaged to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin's name was Mary. And he came to her and said, "Greetings, favored one! The Lord is with you." But she was much perplexed by his words and pondered what sort of greeting this might be. The angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And now, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you will name him Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give to him the throne of his ancestor David. He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end." Mary said to the angel, "How can this be, since I am a virgin?" The angel said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be holy; he will be called Son of God."
Then Mary said, "Here am I, the servant of the Lord; let it be with me according to your word." Then the angel departed from her.
Devotional ---------- The Virgin Mary was the first disciple. She modeled what it is to be the faithful follower of God and Jesus. She trusted in God's Word to her and committed herself to the path in which God had directed her. "Let it be to me according to your word." This is the most basic and fundamental response of the disciple. As we come close to the manger this Christmas let this be our response to the One who saves us and leads us to God's glory and peace.
Prayer ---------- Gracious God, encourage me to commit to your Word that calls me to follow Jesus whom you sent to lead. Amen

O.K. Woody, I gotta ask. Whatcha do? Boo-boo… Hunting with my grandson - On our last day to hunt I ran my old 1999 4Runner in a ditch on Scales Road. I had gotten pictures of two big boxer dogs chasing deer on the trail camera. Dogs chasing deer is not good, but I was more worried about us meeting up with them in the woods in the dark. I carry a sidearm while hunting, but I'd rather not have that confrontation. A friend that lives up there told me he thought that the dogs belonged to a person that built a home on the corner of Scales Road and Ebenezer Cemetery Road. After hunting I drove by there and was looking to see if there were dogs there. Looking left while driving sometimes we subconsciously steer the vehicle left. Next thing you know I hit loose gravel and down in the ditch we went. Thank the good Lord neither my grandson or I was injured, The 4Runner did not fair well.. It was a total loss. Farm Bureau did me right with a little over $6,000. I loved that old truck and took great care of it. It was not a fitting end for it. I had promised it to my grandson when I pass on, I guess he will get the next one.
