Did I miss it or did you not put him in the check in ? I haven't put him in yet or my reduction zone buck. I think it might just be your first buck though. We have an upgrade policy. The lesser bucks counts 5 points

This time it was a kid.,.
Juvenile injured in tree stand accident (Ripley County)
Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating a tree stand accident that happened Saturday and left a juvenile injured.
At 4 p.m., first responders were dispatched to a hunting accident on private property near the 6000 block of County Road 800 South in Friendship.
Initial investigation revealed that a juvenile hunter was climbing into their tree stand when the straps securing the stand broke and caused the stand to fall from the tree. The juvenile fell approximately 20 feet, sustained non-life-threatening injuries, and was airlifted to a Cincinnati hospital in serious condition.
Other assisting agencies included the Friendship Fire Department, Ripley County Emergency Medical Services, and PHI Air Medical.
Conservation officers remind Hoosiers that the most common hunting-related injuries are from accidents involving tree stands and elevated platforms. All hunters should wear a full body safety harness when going up to and getting down from elevated platforms. For more information, see hunting.IN.gov.

Hard to believe that any serious deer hunter would not keep abreast of when the firearm season open every year, but reading some Facebook pages says it aint so..
Hopefully they checked the deer in as a firearm kill so they can get a CO visit.

Grandson from Chicago is coming in for the Thanksgiving weekend. He is bringing his fist born baby (June 23, 2023) and my 16th Great Grand Baby with him. Last year I felt bad (kinda) when I killed a nice buck out of the stand he would be hunting 5 days later on, so I'm staying home until Thanksgiving morning. Giving the stand a break for him. It will be nice sharing the deer woods with him again.

Text for the Day -- Daniel 4:19-22, 25, 27-28 ---------- Then Daniel, who was called Belteshazzar, was severely distressed for a while. His thoughts terrified him. The king said, "Belteshazzar, do not let the dream or the interpretation terrify you." Belteshazzar answered, "My lord, may the dream be for those who hate you, and its interpretation for your enemies! The tree that you saw, which grew great and strong, so that its top reached to heaven and was visible to the end of the whole earth, whose foliage was beautiful and its fruit abundant, and which provided food for all, under which animals of the field lived, and in whose branches the birds of the air had nests — it is you, O king! You have grown great and strong. Your greatness has increased and reaches to heaven, and your sovereignty to the ends of the earth.
You shall be driven away from human society, and your dwelling shall be with the wild animals. You shall be made to eat grass like oxen, you shall be bathed with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over you, until you have learned that the Most High has sovereignty over the kingdom of mortals, and gives it to whom he will.
Therefore, O king, may my counsel be acceptable to you: atone for your sins with righteousness, and your iniquities with mercy to the oppressed, so that your prosperity may be prolonged."
All this came upon King Nebuchadnezzar.
Devotional ---------- Fearfully Daniel interprets the king's dream and encourages the king to change his ways - rule with mercy in his kingdom and care for the poor. If he does this his rule will be extended in time. The king did this and his rule was extended, and he acknowledged Daniel's God as the great ruler. Human power and authority are limited in scope and time. Many leaders forget that and assume they have absolute power over others. This challenge to God does not go unnoticed. In the end God prevails.
Prayer ----------- Give all leaders the wisdom to lead with mercy and justice, O Lord. Amen

Live from the bed. Lol! Second day of firearms season doesn't excite like it did 25 years ago. Lol! Good luck, guys! Funny how that works, ain't it? LOL. I’ve got a family function and church today. Being retired eases the “I should be out there” mind. The guys in the 80 acre property next to us killed 4 bucks. Two were pretty decent .

Text for the Day -- Daniel 4:8-12 ---------- At last Daniel came in before me — he who was named Belteshazzar after the name of my god, and who is endowed with a spirit of the holy gods — and I told him the dream: "O Belteshazzar, chief of the magicians, I know that you are endowed with a spirit of the holy gods and that no mystery is too difficult for you. Hear the dream that I saw; tell me its interpretation.
Upon my bed this is what I saw; there was a tree at the center of the earth, and its height was great. The tree grew great and strong, its top reached to heaven, and it was visible to the ends of the whole earth. Its foliage was beautiful, its fruit abundant, and it provided food for all. The animals of the field found shade under it, the birds of the air nested in its branches, and from it all living beings were fed."
Devotional ---------- Daniel was an interpreter of dreams like Joseph. Daniel was in a strange land (Babylon) in exile as a Jew. The king in Babylon had a dream of a great tree that grew to the heavens. The tree was home for many birds. But, then, a watcher from heaven came down and said that the tree should be cut off. None of the king's wise council could or would interpret the dream. Babylon at that time was the greatest nation and had conquered all the nations around it, including Israel. Daniel, a conquered Jew was brought in to interpret the dream. God provides his people with opportunities to witness even when they are in captivity.
Prayer ------ Help me acknowledge your power, O Lord, as the greatest power. Amen

I have hearing aids but they do not buffer loud noises such as gun shots, so I don’t wear them hunting gun season. Hearing aids will magnify any noise including a gun shot... big time. Taking the hearing aids out is good, but your hearing is unprotected. Shooting a gun with unprotected hearing WILL make it worse, guaranteed.. One BANG can do it. Believe me - once its gone, its gone. I wear electronic muffs when shooting or gun hunting religiously. I had a lot of trouble with Walkers. Threw them in the trash. I have a pair of Peltors now and like them a lot. I wore them for 6 hours this morning. Get some protection Bill.. You'll than me later.
