i just bought a johnny stewart e-call from bass pro for 100 bucks, just played with it in the house but it seems like it will do just fine. comes with 12 different sounds, you can play 2 sounds at once and has a 60 foot cord so you can have the spealer away from you. small and light too. its not a 400 dollar fox pro set up, but it didnt cost 400 bucks either, and seems to do most of the same stuff outside of wireless operation

My view is that this country was founded on Christian principles. [/quote]
such as tolerance? or do you ignore that one, along with most people that claim to wholly beleive in something, yet ignore the parts they dont like? wiccaa is a weird religion, i'll give you that, but they have no less of a right to worship on base as you do.
i'll be perfectly honest and say i dont have the most absolute beleif in christianity or the bible bc its been so mistranslated and misconstrued by man, but i do know He is a tolerant, fair God, that loves everyone on this earth and expects you to be the same

as far as asking permision, put on the land owners shoes. how would you like to be approached? personaly, i would prefer a knock on the door to a phone call. and make sure its at a decent time, not right after he gets home from work, not too late and try not to interupt dinner. I would'nt plan on running into his woods as soon as he says yes, and I probably wouldnt even bring the guns just to keep from looking over anxious. be very courteous, of course, since lots of people deer hunt, suggest maybe not hnting until before or after deer season, tell him if he has any other problems (like coyotes) that you would be more than willing to help if you see them while you are out, assure that you will call and ask anytime you want to come out. when asking permission to coon hunt, we have had landowners ask if they could come along bc they enjoyed it years ago or whatever and dont have anymore coon hunting friends. so you might even get a friend out of it, so suggest he's welcome to hunt with you
basicly, be over courteous, not anxious, polite and considerate, really nothing your mother didnt teach you

sorry for the pic quality on this one. this is our pride and joy, a female black and tan we call Tar Baby. Hard to tell from the pic, but she's about 7 feet up a cedar tree. I think she's half coon, even on a tree with a smooth truck she can climb up three big strides before she finally loses grip and falls back down Attachments:

think I should let him run around on his own at first, or keep him with me while we sit until maybe he spots one and let him go then?

anyone car to give a few pointers on making a squirell dog? i have a bloodhound/bassett hound/lab mix that i would love to get hunting somehow. he was a mutt I found at a shelter, so its not like he's ever really done any hunting. he does love to chase rabitts and he's always sniffing around. I just dont know how to get him more focused and get him to actually track and tree a squirell. if I could even get him to tree, it would be for anything right now from a bird to a bobcat and I'd like to make him into a decent squirell hunter. I figure he's got more than enuff nose with the hound in him, think its worth trying even?
